The Richmond-Petersburg metropolitan area has a population of 974,000. Richmond, the state capital, is a leading center for manufacturing, finance, trade, and corporate headquarters. Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) sits on 78 acres and is located in Richmond's Fan District.
