citycelebrations is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1985. Their mission is to energize downtown Richmond, Virginia and unite the community through festivals and celebrations including Friday Cheers at Brown's Island, Wednesday on the Waterfront at the Turning Basin in Shockoe Slip, Easter on Parade, Riverfront Outdoor Movies, River City Beer and Seafood Festival, Ukrop's Family Jubilee, The Big Gig, and the 2nd Street Festival.

 Fan District Association (FDA)
The Historic Fan District Association is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the urban residential area known as the Fan District in Richmond. The historic "Fan" is a residential neighborhood of some of the most architecturally significant houses and buildings of late 19th and early 20th century located in Richmond. Located west of the Central Business District (Downtown Richmond) and Monroe Park, it includes Virginia Commonwealth University's academic campus and continues west to the Boulevard. FDA works closely with other groups like the Historic Monument Avenue and Fan District Foundation, the West Avenue Improvement Association, West Grace Street Association, Monument Avenue Preservation Society and others. Membership is open to “any individual or organization residing in or owning real property in the Fan District.” which includes parts of Historic Monument Avenue. Renters, property owners, and those whose business, church, or other organization is located within the geographic boundaries of the Fan are also eligible for membership.

 Greater Richmond Partnership
The Greater Richmond Partnership (GRP) is a regional economic development group representing the City of Richmond and the counties of Chesterfield, Hanover, and Henrico. The GRP provides site location assistance for foreign and domestic firms looking to locate or expand their operations in the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area. The Partnership was organized in mid-1994 as a public-private, not-for-profit corporation funded jointly by the four local governments and approximately 275 area businesses. The Partnership staff has years of economic and community development experience, which insures that inquiries are handled in a professional and timely manner. Services are provided at no cost to the company and with complete confidentiality. The Partnership is the only economic development organization in the U.S. to be named as one of the nation’s top economic development groups by Site Selection magazine for five consecutive years (for 1996 through 2000).

The mission of the Historic Richmond Foundation is to champion the preservation of the varied elements that give Richmond its unique historic character. To that end, the Foundation will buy and sell property, undertake restoration projects, carry out educational programs and exhort the private sector as well as government at all levels to treat historic preservation as integral to progress and economic development.
Museum District Association

The mission of the Museum District Association is to unite, protect, and advance the interests of the neighborhood in order to realize its potential and improve the quality of life in the neighborhood and community. Membership in the Museum District Association is open to anyone who lives, owns or leases property within the area bounded by Broad Street, I-195, Cary Street and the Boulevard. The Museum District leads you to the Children’s Museum of Richmond, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Maymont, the Science Museum of Virginia, the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, the Virginia Historical Society, the Virginia Holocaust Museum and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
 Richmond Riverfront Development Corporation
The Riverfront development is a cooperative partnership of the City of Richmond and its Riverfront partners — Reynolds Metals Company, Dominion Resources, Ethyl Corporation, Norfolk Southern Corporation and the Lady Byrd Company, L.C. The corporation was developed in the early 90's to explore development along the river. The Richmond Riverfront Development is a 1.25-mile stretch from the historic Tredegar Iron Works site, west of 7th Street to 17th Street on the east. An important piece of the development is the renovated and rebuilt James River & Kanawha Canals and Haxall Canal, which includes a major Turning Basin and close by restaurants, hotels, shops and offices in Shockoe Slip and Shockoe Bottom.
