Richmond Landmarks

This lavishly restored 1928 Lowe's Movie Palace is home to The Richmond Symphony, The Virginia Opera and the popular Broadway Under the Stars series that brings the best in theatre to Richmond. The Carpenter Center auditorium was fully restored in 1983 to its original splendor. It seats 2,043 and was designed to resemble a Mediterranean courtyard garden, offering the elegance of the past with the modern amenities that audiences expect.
