Fireside Hearth and Home is a result of expanding its business focusing on the facings business by manufacturing their own panelized brick facings, mantels and oak wall systems and has also become the hearth products distribution leader on the East Coast. The resulting company, based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, was named American Fireplace Company.

In February 2000, Allied Fireside and American Fireplace Company, the recognized leaders in the hearth products distribution business, combined their operations and became part of the Hearth Technologies, Inc. (HTI) group. With the combined strengths of this new group, called Hearth Services, and the manufacturing group, they have continued to grow the business in the retail, builder and dealer sales channels in the Mid-Atlantic, East Coast and Midwest areas of the country.

In October 2002, they announced that they would become Fireside Hearth & Home, a name they believe captures the essence of their business as they continue to introduce new products and concepts for the home.
