Various kinds of stones are being used for the building of the living room fireplace including greenstone (sometimes called green schist) which probably originates from Mt. Athos greenstone quarry, Lynchburg, Virginia. The greenstone along with other stones were salvaged from the fireplace of a house that was being demolished.
